On the morning of June 20th local time, the trial operation of Saudi Mecca Light Rail began before the 2018 Hajj.
In April this year, owners handed over the operation of the Saudi Mecca Light Rail to the group for the 2018 Hajj operation. It was three years to regain the right to operate the project after the group handed over the Mecca Light Rail project to the owner and was operated by a Malaysian company. The project is also an important collaboration between the Saudi 2030 Vision strategy and the establishment of China's Belt and Road initiative.
It is reported that the pilot operation lasts for two months. The project team will comprehensively test and inspect all kinds of system problems in the course of operation and carry out targeted refinements, and at the same time further improve the level of dispatch, drivers, and station services, in order to laid a solid foundation for the formal operation in August.
It is reported that in November 2010, CRCC successfully completed the first Hajj operation of Saudi Arabia's Mecca Light Rail and the operation maintenance mission for another five years, carrying a total of 15 million pilgrims. It has been highly appraised and appreciated by all circles of Saudi Arabia and Muslims all over the world.
